When Madeline first contacted me about her wedding in June of 2017 she had the sweetest voice and demeanor. Then we met for the first time at a coffee house in Downtown Raleigh a few days later, she was everything I pictured she would be. She looked like a modern day fairy tale princess….she truly has a timeless beauty about her. Brett and Madeline hired me to coordinate their wedding at the Merrimon Wynne and when she told me she was a fashion designer and moving to New York a few months later to intern I knew her wedding was going to be absolutely gorgeous. She proceeded to tell me about the design of her wedding dress and how the colors were going to be shades of blush, grey and black so you know this blush loving gal was secretly wishing it was happening the next day! Her dress was designed in New York and it was something I had never seen before, it truly was made for her and she could not stop twirling in it all day and night, it was stunning! The details of the entire day were just as sophisticated as she is. And her blush shoes? Well, you can see for yourself. Brett and his groomsmen wore black and when he saw her for their first look on the lawn his face was priceless. They exchanged gifts to one another with Madeline giving Brett a print of them in their wedding attire with their kitties and Brett gave her a beautiful pair of earrings. They were the happiest, sweetest couple, so full of joy and love for one another and it showed the entire day. The ceremony was held on the lawn underneath the market lights in front of a pergola draped in white with greenery and flowers and then guests headed inside the house for cocktail hour. Details inside included family photos prominently placed for family members to be remembered, mantles holding pictures of Brett and Madeline, a recipe book for guests to sign so they could always remember that day while cooking meals together as husband and wife and guest seating displayed on the gorgeous vintage gold mirror. The soft romantic setting inside the Carriage House with the smell of peonies and the warm glow of candlelight brought such a smile to Madeline’s face when she saw it for the first time that it brought me to tears. Watching Madeline twirl in her dress while dancing for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. and then with her father was truly magical. Guests dined on an awesome spread from Cook Shack Catering then were treated to cake, cupcakes, macaroons and baklava that a family member brought all the way from Jordan. If that wasn’t enough, they even had a cotton candy cart inside the house for guests to enjoy. Guests danced the night away and our Taylor Swift loving bride hardly ever left the dance floor and sung every word to all her favorite songs. Guests continued to enjoy the lawn area under the market lights then were treated to some tasty gummy bears before heading home. As guests lined up out front for the sparkler exit, Madeline and Brett enjoyed one last private dance inside the Carriage House before heading into their very own Happily Ever After. XO-Lynn
