Hannah and Todd’s downtown Raleigh winter wedding in January gave me all the cozy feels! The snow that was left over on the ground after a previous snowfall made for beautiful pictures. They were a fun loving couple and every time we met we always had a blast so designing their winter wedding with them was truly a joy. Hannah had chosen a deep emerald green for her girls to wear so that was the start of our design process so to accent that we brought in gold, copper, cream and a hint of midnight blue. Hannah even created her own art piece that hung behind their sweetheart table as well as hand lettering all the marble tiles we used for table numbers and her gift and guest book table. We just love it when our couples are able to let their artistic side come through! Hannah and Todd chose to have a first look at the venue before heading to their ceremony at White Memorial Presbyterian but before they jumped on the Raleigh Trolley to head that way their baby boy “Bear” stopped by for some photos with his mommy and daddy. After a heartfelt ceremony, everyone headed back to the venue for cocktail hour where the house was elegantly decorated with lots of candle light, flowers, a copper arch displaying the table assignments, a lounge area incorporating the Merrimon Wynne’s gorgeous wing back chairs and their cake making a statement in front of those historic blue doors. When guests entered the Carriage House for the reception they were taken back by the elegant table settings, warm glow of candles and a head table to die for complete with deep green glass goblets and hand written marble tiles for each of the bridal party. After Hannah and Todd were introduced they went right into their first dance followed by the father-daughter and mother-son dances. Guest were treated to a first class meal, yummy cake then the band got the dance floor started and guests never stopped the rest of the night. Because it was a bit chilly out the Merrimon Wynne had their fire pit set for guests to enjoy while still being able to watch all the fun taking place back inside. At the end of the night Hannah wore a classic fur shawl to make her get away with Todd through a sparkler tunnel into a classic car waiting to whisk them away.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Morecraft, it was a honor planning your big day, here’s to your Happily Ever After! XO-Lynn
