Hi everyone! My name is Joanne and I am one of the new assistants for Happily Ever After! I am super excited about starting this role and working with these two fantastic ladies, Lynn and Jess. It has always been a dream of mine to be a wedding planner! I am extremely organized and always find myself to be the “planner” of the bunch, whether it is associated to organizing a family/friend event and/or church/school/work social. I live, eat and breathe planning!
I graduated from East Carolina University in May 2010 with a dual major in Health Information Management and Health Service Management. Go Pirates! Throughout my college years, I was part of a sorority and on the social committee (planning all the events), as well as part of lots of other clubs where I helped plan school events. After graduation, I worked as a healthcare IT project manager for about 4 years. As I enjoyed my job, I do not think that I was ever fully satisfied. Within my project manager roles, I was always looking for more opportunities to do what I love. I would always sign up for annual business party planning committees, charity functions, etc. But to be completely honest with you, it was not until planning my own wedding that I realized that my true love falls in not just any event planning, but more specifically wedding planning. I love the idea of helping two people make one of their most important days of their life a wonderful memory and dream come true.
In Feb 2014, I met Jess and Lynn and hired them as my day-of-coordinators. From there on out, our friendship, as well as work relationship grew. These ladies inspired me to take a leap of faith and move forward with my dreams. In August 2015, I married my best friend and at the same time started an internship with Happily Ever After and now I am an official assistant!
My husband and I are planning to have children in the near future, so ultimately I would like to be a stay-at-home mom with a day-care service and continue to help plan as many weddings as possible! Maybe one day… in the distant future, I can start my own wedding planning business, too.
