Honestly, it saddens us a little bit to write this blog post because it means this wedding has come and gone! We truly enjoyed growing close with Whitney and Rob during the year of our planning together; these two souls illuminate all that is around them, and we hate our time with them is over, but we know there will be some catching up in the future!
They reached out to us last fall looking for a full planner, who can help them orchestrate everything. We immediately hit it off and the contract was signed, and, we were the first vendor they booked! We helped them book all subsequent vendors, starting of course, with their venue. We initially were aiming for a June wedding, but were finding out the perfect venue wasn’t available at that time, so to ease everyone’s stress, they decided to consider October. Which all of us in the industry know, is high season also, so we were lucky that Bay 7 was available. Whitney and Rob had a special connection with Durham; it is a city they frequented all the time on date nights and they lived close by. We were all thrilled once the venue was locked down because that meant the date was settled and we could hit the ground running with other vendor selection and design! These two were incredibly trusting of our recommendations as they hired every vendor we brought their way! Whitney also trusted us with helping with her vision of gold and navy with soft accents like ivory/white and blush. The months continued to roll by, vendors were booked, details were finalized. Then the next thing we knew, their wedding weekend was here! You’ll see from the photos what we mean when we say these two illuminate any room.. just look at their contagious smiles!
PS something VERY special you should know; Whitney’s mother passed away a few years ago, and Whitney decided to wear her mother’s wedding dress down the aisle. She made a few alterations to it, but mostly kept the original style. It was so special and touching! Wait until you see the photo of her dad seeing her in it for the first time. It’s a tear jerker, just warning you. Then, before introductions, Whitney changed into a “party” dress that was equally as stunning.
We will let the photos tell the story! CONGRATS Whitney and Rob, our hearts could explode with joy for you and your new life together!
