Danielle and Michael//October 26, 2016//Wake Forest

When a photographer contacts you to help plan her wedding day you know you’re in for a treat because of their creativity, style and sense of knowing exactly what they do and do not want. I met Danielle, or Elle as everyone calls her, for coffee back in February to hear all about her vision. She was one of the sweetest most laid back girls I have ever met and once I heard all about how her and Michael met in New Zealand and about her traveling adventures I quickly realized how incredibly honored I was to be a part of such an important day in both of their lives. I wouldn’t be able to meet Michael until the day of the wedding becasue…well if you MUST know…. he is a nuclear power engineer in the UK but she invited me to her parents home in Wake Forest where they would say their “I Do’s” in a very intimate gathering of their closest family and friends. Once I walked into the backyard my heart skipped a beat becasue I could immediately envision what the space could become. Her parents had meticulously landscaped and created a gorgeous space for entertaining that already looked like it could be in a magazine but in order to incorporate the vision Elle had for an enchanted forest I knew bringing in the Green House Picker Sisters was a must. And that’s exactly what we did. As guests arrived they were treated to champagne then they took their seats where Elle and Michael exchanged vows under the arbor with a pallet wall backdrop her family created just for them and it even withstood Hurricane Matthew a few weeks before. Once the ceremony was over guests moved to the patio area where dinner, dancing and desserts all took place in one of the most beautiful settings ever. Elle’s personality and special touches from their families is what made this day so truly wonderful. From her grandfathers hand carved box that they used for cards to the homemade wine her father made and bottled, family and friends (many of which traveled in from Britain) came together to celebrate and join two families coming together as one. Did I mention how she started her day as a unicorn with dragons and cats by her side then ended her night in a gorgeous Hayley Paige dress under the market lights snuggling under a blanket with her hubby? Now that’s my kind of wedding! XOXO Lynn
