Some of you may not know this, but May 7th holds a special place in our hearts (more specifically Lynn’s heart). This is because it is her very own wedding anniversary! This year she celebrated 20 (!!!) years. So when April and Phil reached out to us asking to help with their May 7th wedding, we said YES, because we know how much love that day can hold.
Our very first meeting with these two was just about at the one-year-out mark, and right from the get go we felt so connected with these two. Our relationship began to grow and deepen (specifically with April) as we worked diligently alongside her to plan their wedding. Right from the beginning, they knew they wanted help with every detail, so they hired us for Full Planning; and we couldn’t of been more excited about it! We only take a limited amount of Full Planning clients as it is so labor intensive and we want to pay precise attention to detail, and luckily we had room in our schedule to accommodate them and this package. The very next day, we were already venue hunting and it didn’t take long for them to set their hearts on the beautiful Leslie Alford Mims House (Mims House for short) in Holly Springs. At the time, the venue was up and coming, and we were THRILLED to not only give Priscilla and Brooke (the owners) business, but to work with a client there! From the historic nature to the modern glam, this venue has us all *heart eyes emoji*.
After the venue was set, we blazed a trail alongside the couple to secure all of their other vendors. It was so fun getting to see them light up when we discussed details, and we have to admit, we were pretty giddy about it, too. April was such an ideal bride in that she took initiative, but also took your advice and didn’t hesitate to execute a plan or idea. Her vision of plums, purples, and greens intertwined with a vintage/garden-like theme were coming to life day by day. It was a true joy to see all of her (and our!) hard work unfold on May 7th, 2016.
Before their “best day ever”, we helped to orchestrate their rehearsal dinner at the Homewood Suites in Cary, where they had a hotel block. The private event space was reserved, and they had the dinner catered by a local BBQ restaurant called Bullock’s. They even had a game of corn hole for guests to enjoy.
Then, on a beautiful sunny morning, we arrived with decor, tool boxes, and Starbucks in hand and dove right in to making the space more beautiful than it already is. April thought of so many unique and personal touches to put around the space; she was the brains, we were the execution! After a touching ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the house and around the grounds. They had the opportunity to play corn hole or visit a vintage glam photo booth trailer! Then we proceeded with introductions, first dances, and then guests headed to the tent to enjoy dinner. After dinner the cake was cut and so was the rug! (Get it?) The day could not of been more perfect, and every vendor played their role perfectly, and we could not be happier for the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Keefe!
