My first meeting with Abby and Lloyd was where else but at a cute little coffee shop in Chapel Hill. Her energy and enthusiasm just exuded from her as she spoke about how she wanted to bring her vision of a romantic southern wedding to the already gorgeous surroundings at the Carriage House. Her colors were navy, pale green, blush and peach with accents of gold and brass. She shared her mood boards with me showing each area of the ceremony and reception spaces with all of her ideas and then selected the Greenhouse Pickers Sisters to style and design it for her and they did not disappoint. The weather cooperated and we had one of the most beautiful October days with blue skies and soft breezes, exactly why Fall weddings in North Carolina are the best! There were so many wonderful pictures from Nicole and Jordan with Forage and Film that it was hard to choose but here are some of my favorites.
Detail shots of rings and bouquets never get old with me. And those shoes, yes please!
I love how their parents lovingly prepared them to head down the aisle. Abby’s mother helped pin her handkerchief to the inside of her dress.
When a brides girls see her for the first time as well as her father the images of those private and intimate moments before the ceremony begins are just priceless.
Abby’s father built the arbor for the ceremony and Southern Petals did a beautiful job adding a touch of greenery and flowers to it. Her signs were custom made as well as the wooden boxes with baby’s breath that flanked the aisle. They both wanted to pay tribute to their loved ones who would not be with them on such an important day in their lives so the memory table was placed along the pathway so Abby would pass by it on her way to the altar with her father.
I just loved the bridesmaids long, flowing dresses and the backs of them were gorgeous. And Abby and Lloyd chose to do a “unity painting” during the ceremony to represent their separate lives coming together as a mixture of both of their unique qualities.
Check out how dapper the men look in their suspenders and blue suede shoes, they compliment the ladies so well. And those ring bearers, can you stand it?
Abby paid tribute to her grandmother by attaching a locket with her picture on her bouquet, such a beautiful gesture.
After the ceremony guests took a short walk to the reception area where cocktail hour took place on the lawn area. Drinks and appetizers were served by the hearth while guest played corn hole, giant Jenga, practiced their golfing skills on the putting green and even showed off their hula hooping techniques.
The gift table in the pavilion was one of the most gorgeous displays I have ever seen. The hanging glass atrium for cards and gold lanterns added the perfect touch to the buffet that Southern Petals decked out in flowers. Guests signed a leaf on their guest book and found their table assignments that were displayed on chicken wire.
Under the pavilion guest tables were beautifully decorated with brass lanterns, gold mirrors, candles, succulents and flowers. The bridal party sat at farm tables with mix matched china and floral garlands.
Abby and Lloyd took center stage with a sweetheart table to die for and a wedding cake that tasted as good as it looked.
Guests danced away the night under the twinkle lights before sending the happy couple off with a sparkler exit.
I was so honored to be a part of their big day and look forward to following them on their Happily Ever After! XOXO-Lynn
